The alarm woke me after a very deep sleep at 6. Our hotel breakfast buffet consisted of waffles, eggs, coffee, naval oranges, & you name it. Then we took a 9-hour trip to San Antonio. On the way, we had lunch at Rib Cage Restaurant in Beaumont, Texas.
In San Antonio, we found a room at the Travel Lodge on Broadway & 4th. After dropping our stuff, we headed to the Riverwalk.
We had supper at the Hard Rock Café. It was a much livelier place than the other ones we had gone to in Florida. The servers were dancing & singing. Patrons did a conga line, etc. Noisy as hell. Just George’s speed; not mine by a long shot. I like a quiet, dignified, genteel atmosphere to accompany my dinner.

Then we walked while looking at all the activity around us. We stood on an extremely long line to purchase tickets to the canal boat ride. The tickets cost $4.50 for me & $6.50 for George. Then we waited once again for an empty boat. George did me an extremely big favor as the last thing he wanted to do was spend his time this way.
Finally, we & about 30 other people were seated on 4 long benches. The host started an hour & 15 min. tour of every canal down here. She gave us lots of info. on everything. It had turned dark by this time & lights blinked everywhere. We watched a show being given to others standing on land for a bit. By turns the tour was exciting, relaxing, enthralling, & interesting. When we got off, George commented that he was glad to go on it after all.
