We put in wake up calls for 7 each day. The phone would ring & a guy sang happy birthday. A first for sure for me. Then we drove like two minutes to the Ponderosa for a buffet breakfast. Next-door was a gift shop. I can never find anything with my name on it but found a mug, which, of course, I bought. Also a $2 past-the-knee nightshirt.
Our first stop was to Animal Kingdom. I sat & read while they went on Expedition Everest—Legend of the Forbidden Mountain. There was no way I was going on a high-speed train ride through the misty unknown, guarded by a fierce Yeti (a.k.a. Abominable Snowman). Roller coasters I can live without.
They thought I could go on Dinosaur Institute. Well, it was not for me. Most of the time, my eyes were closed and/or I was taking deep breaths to calm myself.
Next we went to see “It’s Tough to be a Bug”. It’s a 3D show housed in the root system of the Tree of Life. Features Flik & Hopper, inspired by Disney’s presentation of Pixar’s A Bug’s Life. Some creepy-crawly moments in the dark, etc. Now, this was more my speed. I enjoyed it even when water was sprayed at us.
At MGM Studios, we ate at the Prime Time Café. I’ve eaten there before but it was nice going once again. It had a 50’s motif. Our waitress was supposed to be our mother. I think I could have done a lot better had she been.
We next saw Sounds Dangerous-Starring Drew Carey. This is a wacky audio show. Some moments were in complete darkness.
At another 3D movie, we saw Muppet Vision 3-D. It was hilarious. It lasted about 25 minutes & was great fun. The a/c was a great +.
Then we went on the Back Lot ride. There were flash floods where some people, like Alan, got soaked. Things went on fire, etc. & etc. I had been on it before and enjoyed it once again.
Next we went to see the Voyage of The Little Mermaid. It was live, musical theatre. Enjoyable.
A few times I’ve been times on The Great Movie Ride but still enjoyed it once again. We traveled through classic film scenes and Hollywood moments.
At this point, we were ready to call it a day. In fact, we were too tired to go out to a restaurant. Instead, we went to Publix. Alan bought himself a giant hero. We picked up paper plates & napkins, & lilac colored plastic ware. Laurie & I each bought an everything bagel, and shared a 3 oz. package of Nova, a small container of cream cheese, & a small jar of pickled herring.
Their new ice chest runs on regular house electric, plugged into the car cigarette lighter, or filled with ice. We took soda & water out of it. What a pleasure sitting propped up by two pillows stretched out on the bed. Meanwhile, they sat on my other bed.
